Constitutions

.
SYRIE

J'exagere a peine.

SYRIA
Syria changed their constitution a few dozens years ago. The result was... the violence that we have been witnessing lately.
The Father Assad did remove the clause which asked that "this country, inhabited by 80% of Sunnites must be governed by a Sunnite President Sunnite"... not too idiot right?
But this modification allowed him to self proclaim President, as he was a Shiite.

ISRAEL
Israel is getting ready to write in their Constitution the supremacy of the Jewish religion above the other non-Jewish citizens of Israel. If this measure was to be adopted, this would open the door to a judicial system with two speeds, not really a good base for democracy...
I suppose that in this case any reference to being a "democracy" will disappear and Israel will be in the same bag as the other |Arab and Semite countries which they belong to, like Saudi Arabia and Qatar, or like the other non-Arab countries but with a strong Muslim population, like Iran... or Turkey, which the USA had tried to push in the arms of Europe...
The Prime Minister of Israel has just fired his two centrist ministers, confirming his ties with the extreme right, and has announced anticipated legislative elections in spring 2015. A last chance for Israel to vote for peace... and refuse the extreme right?

USA
On the other hand the USA could use them a change of their Constitution:
1. Their government should be chosen in the majority of their Legislative Assembly, ie the same majority votes the laws and applies them, not so silly right?... like in the democracies of the Old Europe or in their northern neighbor (Canada, not the Polar Bears...). So they would have a Prime Minister. And in that case, they could eventually keep their system to elect their President, with an intermediate college of big electors..., like in China...
2. The Constitution which guarantees them a right to bear a weapon, should remind them all that the authorized weapons are those known at the time of the issuance of the Constitution, ie bows and arrows and single bullet long rifles...!
I am barely exaggerating. But at least it would be harder to hide them (legally) under your jacket in the restaurant...!
