Aujourd'hui, jour de la Marmotte en Amérique du Nord. Une
marmotte sort de son hibernation et regarde au dehors : si elle ne voit pas le
soleil, la tradition veut que l’hiver durera moins de 6 autres semaines; et la
marmotte retourne dans son abri pour hiberner.
Chanceuse la marmotte… Pendant
ce temps la, du Texas au nord Est de des Etats Unis et du Canada, la pire
tempête hivernale de cet hiver est arrivée. Combien de cms de neige ? Je vous
dirais ca dans deux jours, quand je pourrais ouvrir ma porte d’entrée...
Ce jour est également la Chandeleur. Une tradition en France veut que si
vous faites sauter des crêpes avec des amis ce soir et que vous ne ratez pas le
retournement de la crêpe tout en tenant une pièce d’or dans la main, l’année
vous apportera de l’argent. En fait... si vous avez une maison, une pièce d’or
a la maison et des amis pour partager vos crêpes, vous êtes déjà parmi les gens
riches et chanceux du Village…
Today is Groundhog Day for North America. A groundhog comes out of
his winter sleep and looks outside: if it does not see the sun, tradition has
it that winter will be over in less than 6 more weeks, and the groundhog
returns in its hibernation home.
Lucky groundhog… Meanwhile, from Texas to the
north East of the USA and Canada, the worst winter storm of the year is happening.
How many inches of snow? I’ll tell you in 2 days, when I can open my front
door.
Today is also Chandeleur day. A tradition in France has it that if
you make crepes with other people this evening, and do not miss the turning
flip of the crepe while holding a gold coin in one hand, money will come to you
in the same year. Mind you, if you have a home and a gold coin at home and
friends to make crepes with, you are already among the rich and lucky people in
the Village...
