10%

En France, les musulmans représenteraient environ 10% des Francais.

Que diriez-vous si ces 10% contrôlaient TOUS les postes supérieurs du gouvernement et de l'armée... inacceptable bien sur... qu'en France ou dans tout autre pays au Village une minorité religieuse spécifique contrôle TOUS les organes du pouvoir. 

Eh bien... en Syrie, les Alawis (branche des shiites musulmans) contrôlent tous les postes du gouvernement et de l'armée mais ne représentent qu'environ 10% de la population...

La Syrie compte environ 75% de musulmans sunnites, et la Constitution des années 1960 stipulait que le Président devait être un Sunnite. Mais suite a la prise de pouvoir du père Al Assad dans les années 70s, la Constitution a été changée pour mentionner simplement un President... musulman.

Les Chiites sont présents en majorité en Iran, et en grand nombre en Irak. Les Sunnites sont majorité en Arabie Saoudite entre autres. Les Sunnites et les Chiites ont des divergences d'opinion qui les poussent a se considérer comme des ennemis mortels pour certains, en Irak par exemple. Et les relations entre l'Iran et l'Arabie Saoudite sont notoirement fraîches, en attendant qu'elles se réchauffent je suppose si les deux pays devaient avoir l'arme atomique... 

Alors 10% d'Alawis qui contrôlent la vie de tous les jours de 75% de Chiites Syriens, depuis 40 ans... ce n'est pas une solution viable pour le long terme...

In France, the Muslim population is estimated at around 10% of the French population. What would you say if these 10% were in control of ALL the top positions in the government and in the army... not acceptable of course... in France or any other country in the Village that a specific religious minority could control ALL the positions of power. 

Well... in Syria, the Alawis (branch of Muslim chiites) control all the positions in the government and in the army but only represent around 10% of the population...

Syria has around 75% of Muslims sunnites, and the Constitution in the 60's was calling for the President to be a Sunnite. But following the take over by the father Al Assad in the 70s, the Constitution was changed to only mention a President of... Muslim religion. The Chiites are the majority in Iran, and well present in Irak. The Sunnites are the majority in Saudi Arabia among other countries. Sunnites and Chiites are divided to the point of thinking of each other as mortal ennemies for some, like in Irak. And the relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia are notably cool, until they get warmer I guess when both countries should have nuclear weapons... 

So 10% of Alawis controlling the daily life of 75% of Syrian Chiites, for the last 40 years... that is not a sustainable solution for the long term...
