Britannia I...
Les célébrations du Jubilé de diamant de la
Reine d'Angleterre se déroulent sans accroc a Londres. Tout a commencé Samedi
dernier avec un jour aux courses, a Epsom, la Reine adore les chevaux. Et hier
un défilé avait lieu sur la Tamise, un souvenir de la toute puissance anglaise
sur les mers, avec un millier de bateaux dans le défilé. Le temps anglais était
au rendez-vous, ensoleillé samedi pour les chevaux et les chapeaux de ces
dames, pluvieux dimanche pour le défilé maritime, pour garder l'Angleterre
verte pour toujours... Et un peu d'eau venue du ciel pour une reine couronnée
par l'Eglise, rien de surprenant, non...
Tout le long de la rivière, les quais et
les hauts d'immeubles étaient noirs de monde avec des centaines de milliers de
spectateurs. Mais bien plus qu'une simple foule de spectateurs saluant de la
main, et venus du Royaume Uni, du Commonwealth, ou du reste du Village, il est
clair que l'hommage était donné a un chef d'Etat qui a su veiller sur
l'Angleterre pendant 60 ans, sans jamais avoir accordé une entrevue a aucun
media.
Ne cherchez pas ou était Tony Blair,
l'ancien premier ministre pendant 10 ans, il n'était sans doute pas invité: il
avait refusé de donner a la reine un nouveau bateau "Britannia II"
quand l'original "Britannia I" avait du être décommissioné, trop vieux. La seule
occasion en 60 ans sans doute ou la reine a eu une demie-larme en public...
Les
bonus des présidents de banques anglaises et de leurs courtiers en bourse pour
une seule année aurait certainement payé le bateau et son entretien pour
plusieurs années... Chiche...?
The celebrations
for the diamond jubilee of the Queen of England are going on smoothly in London.
Her Majesty started the celebration on Saturday with a day at Epsom to watch horses race, she loves horses.
And yesterday the parade was on the Thames river, a reminiscence of the power of Great Britain over the seas, with a thousand boats participating.
The English weather was up to par, sunny on Saturday for the horse races and the ladies' hats, and rain on Sunday or the water parade, keeping England for ever green... And a bit of water from the sky for a monarch crowned by the Church, nothing wrong with that, isn't it...
All along the river, the quais and the top of the buildings were crowded with hundred of thousands of people. But more than simply a waving crowd of people from England, the Commonwealth, or anywhere in the Village, there is no question that the hommage was given to a head of State who has done her best to keep England on course for 60 years, without ever giving an interview to any media.
Don't try to find where was Tony Blair, the former prime minister for 10 years, he was most certainly not invited: he had refused to give a new boat "Britannia II" when the original "Britannia I" had to be decommissioned, too old. The only time in 60 years that the Queen had half a tear in public... The bonuses of the English Banks presidents and their stock market dealers for a single year would have most certainly paid for the new boat and its maintenance for many years... Would you do it...?
