Cause toujours / Keep talking

Le président des Etats Unis en visite a Jérusalem a parle devant 2,000 jeunes israéliens.
Il leur a décrit sa vision, a savoir que la sécurité a long terme d’Israël passe par une paix avec les palestiniens. Et il leur a demandé de pousser leur leaders a faire la paix.
Le président a partagé sa vision d’une région en paix, bravo !
Sauf que…
- Le président a déjà essayé depuis plusieurs mois de prendre les media a témoin que le Congres américain devait négocier avec lui le budget 2013 du gouvernement… le Congres l’a laisse parler… et a laisse tomber la coupe automatique des dépenses du gouvernement… cause toujours… le peuple et ses représentants a l’assemblée législative auront toujours raison…

- En Israël, le pays vient de voter pour ses représentants a l’assemblée législative, et les travaillistes du président Perez (en faveur de la paix maintenant avec les palestiniens) ont perdu les élections… alors cause toujours…

Qui plus est, appeler les jeunes et potentiellement la rue a pousser le gouvernement n’est pas très raisonnable, voir inacceptable dans un pays étranger… mais… le premier ministre israélien avait appelé publiquement les américains a ne pas élire le président américain pour un second mandat, tout aussi inacceptable… donc… un prêté pour un rendu… sauf qu’il aurait fallu parler avant les élections israéliennes Mr Obama, pas un mois après… trop tard… ?

- La Chine avait demandé a la Corée du Nord de ne pas faire de troisième essai d’armes nucléaires… le mois dernier la Corée du Nord a passé outre… sous deux semaines, la Chine a alors voté les sanctions contre la Corée du Nord au Conseil de sécurité… au moins leur position est claire… Le président des Etats Unis a demandé a Israël d’arrêter le développement des colonies en territoire palestinien occupé depuis… 4 ans…

Israël défie ouvertement le président des Etats Unis depuis 4 ans, je vous laisse deviner ce que pense les dirigeants palestiniens de l’influence possible du président des Etats Unis sur Israël… cause toujours…

Ou sont les sanctions, comme par exemple un vote au conseil de sécurité des Nations Unies ou une diminution même symbolique du support financier sans lequel Israël n’existerait plus?

Le congrès américain n’est pas d’accord avec le président des Etats Unis… ?! je vois…

Est-ce que la semaine prochaine un membre du congrès américain va venir en Israël pour dire que l’Amérique soutient Israël et le développement de ses colonies… ?

L’immobilisme des Etats Unis en politique interne et étrangère dure depuis deux ans, et n’est pas prêt d’être résolu. Il est grand temps que les Etats Unis amendent leur Constitution, pour se donner un gouvernement et un premier ministre issue de leur assemblée législative, comme les pays de la vieille Europe, ou Israël…

The President of the United States is visiting Jerusalem and he spoke to 2,000 young Israelis. He gave them his vision, ie that security for Israel in the long term requires peace with the Palestinians. And he asked them to push their leaders to make peace. The President has shared his vision of the area in peace, bravo!
Except that…
- The President has already tried for many months to take the media on his side to pressure the American Congress to make a deal with him on the 2013 government budget… Congress let him talk… and let the automatic cut of spending fall upon the government… keep talking… the people and their representatives at the Legislative Assembly will always be right…

- In Israel, the country has just elected their representatives at the Legislative Assembly, and the Labor party of the President Perez (in favor of peace now with the Palestinians) lost… so keep talking…

Furthermore, calling the young people and potentially the street to put pressure on the government is not very wise, maybe even unacceptable in a foreign country… but… the Israeli Prime Minister had called publicly the American people not to re-elect the American President, also unacceptable… so… tit for tat… except that it would have been better to talk before the Israeli elections, not right after… too late…?

- China asked North Korea not to proceed with their third test of nuclear weapons… last month North Korea went on with their test… within two weeks China voted the sanctions against the government of North Korea at the Security Council… at least their position is clear…

The President of the United States has been asking Israel to stop building settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories for… 4 years… Israel has been defying openly the President of the United States for 4 years, I let you guess what the Palestinians leaders  are thinking of his possible influence on Israel… keep talking…
Where are the sanctions, like for instance a vote at the Security Council of the United Nations or a diminution even symbolic of the financial help without which Israel would not exist anymore?

The American Congress does not agree with the American President…?! I see…
Are we going to see next week a member of the American Congress come and visit Israel and say that the United States support Israel and the development of its settlements…?

The lack of actions of the government of the United States, in terms of internal or foreign politics, have been lasting for over 2 years and there is no hope in sight. It is about time that the United States amend their Constitution, to get a government and a Prime Minister issued from their Legislative Assembly, like the countries of the Old Europe, or like Israel…
