1968

.(170522)

For the first time in the V French republic (since 1958), a French President newly elected got less than 50% of support in a poll made in the first weel of his presidency. Mr Macron got 46% of favorable opinions against 54 to 60% for the previous French Presidents. And all this although 99% of the French media are in the hands of declared strong fans of the elected President.
The legislative elections which are coming in 4 weeks are the only true poll to believe for the French people. This time it is going to be program against program, no more arms stretched to the sky and lyric speeches with a close-up on the face of a cinema rising start wit blue eyes...
The program of the Republican European right (with the Center UDI) looks to me as if they are walking towards the victory to get a majority at the Legislative assembly, or at any case to have the most representatives elected.
The existing government is finally well situated to the left as everyone could expect, even if the Prime minister and the two ministers from the right who were put at the head of the economy and finance minister were credulous enough to listen to the sweet talking of the cameleon president who doest everything.
Mr Macron got 24% of the votes on the first roundd of his election, against basically 60% dead against him: 20% on the extreme right, 20% on the extreme left, and 20% for the European Republican right. Sounds like a lot in my opinion, in a country like France...

Good news and bad news to come for the President Macron. Which one do you want first...?
- Good news: the European Republican right is going to be a constructive opposition, but which will nevertheless impose its program.
- Bad news... May 2018 will be the 50th anniversary of May 1968, the revolution in the street of part of the French people against a President who thought he was always right, the General de Gaulle.
Mind you, the revolution was started by the unrest of 25% of the population, the young under 25 years old. And the general plyed a poker game a few months later with a referendum to create new big economic Regions... which was finally put in place a few years later. The big Charles was right, one more time... but too late, the street got him and he left when he felt he did not have the support of a majority of French people.

See you in May 2018 in the streets of Paris or Lyon to see... the celebration of a 50th anniversary...?
