Le G20 tenu a St Petersbourg (Russie) a finalement décidé que la solution pour la crise syrienne devait passer par un accord a l'ONU, et non pas par une décision unilatérale des Etats Unis d'attaquer ou non, ou une coalition entre les USA et l'Angleterre, ou une coalition menée par la France... Bravo. Il est temps que les intérêts a long terme du Village priment sur les intérêts a court terme de tel ou tel pays, ou leur objectifs cachés, politiques, religieux ou commerciaux.

Mais... l'ONU, c'est en fait trois organismes clefs a mon avis...

- Pour discuter: L'Assemblée Générale

Elle permet a tous de s'exprimer, sans avoir a embaucher les média pour défendre son point de vue. Quoi qu'on en pense, cette assemblée générale est primordiale, et les idées doivent se combattre d'abord par des idées et des paroles. Encore faudrait-il avoir le courage d'affronter publiquement, encore et encore, certains sujets brulants, comme... l'éloge du terrorisme par certains imams musulmans, ou les droits de la femme et des enfants dans certains pays non laïcs, ou le refus d'Israel de signer le traité de non prolifération des armes nucléaires, ou la destruction de tous les stocks d'armes chimiques puisqu'il est interdit d'en faire usage, ou le rétablissement en Syrie de l'article de la constitution qui précisait que le président devait être de confession musulmane sunnite...

- Pour juger, après les faits: La Cour de Justice de La Haye.

Encore faudrait-il que les USA la reconnaisse, pour pouvoir, comme n'importe quel pays, y accuser, ou y être accusés.

- Pour décider, pendant les faits...: Le Conseil de Sécurité

Qui est bloqué depuis des dizaines d'années par le droit de véto accordé a quelques pays, un seul veto empêchant la résolution d'être votée... La Russie bloque aujourd'hui toute condamnation de la Syrie, en partie pour garder son seul port (en Syrie) sur la Méditerranée, mais bon vu que les USA ont bloqué toute condamnation d'Israel pendant des dizaines d'années...

Il faut réformer cette clause et accepter qu'une résolution soit passée si UN SEUL pays n'est pas d'accord. Les intérêts du Village doivent l'emporter sur les intérêts d'un seul pays, qu'il s'appelle les Etats Unis, la Russie, l'Angleterre, la France, ou la Chine. Une fois la décision prise (résolution), une coalition de pays peut se mettre en place pour agir.

The G20 held in St Petersbourg (Russia) finally decided that the solution for the crisis in Syria must go through an agreement at the United Nations, and not be a unilateral decision by the USA to attack or not, or a coalition between the USA and England, or a coalition led by France... Bravo. It is about time that the long term interests of the Village have priority over the short terms interests of any country, or their hidden objectives, political, religious or commercial objectives.

But... the United Nations are in fact three key organisms in my opinion...

- To discuss the issues: The General Assembly
It gives a chance to all to expose their point of view, without having to hire the media to sell their point of view. Whatever you think, this general assembly is a must, and ideas must be fought first with ideas and words. Of course, this supposes that there will be enough courage displayed to discuss publicly again and again some hot potatoes, like... praising terrorism by some extremist muslim imams, or the rights of the women and children in some non secular countries, or why does Israel refuse to sign the treaty of non proliferation of nuclear weapons, or the destruction of all stocks of chemical weapons since it is forbidden to use them, or re-establishing in Syria the article of the constitution which was asking for the President to be a Sunnite Muslim...
- To judge: The International Court of Justice of The Hague.
Mind you, it would be better if the USA did recognise it, so they could, like any other country, lodge an accusation, or be the object of one.
- To decide, while things are happening...: The Security Council
Which has been blocked for dozens of years because a single country can veto a resolution and prevent it from being adopted... Today Russia puts its veto against any resolution against Syria, partly to keep its only harbour (in Syria) in the Mediterranea, but well, since the USA put their veto against any condemnation of Israel for dozens of years...
This rule should be changed and a resolution should be adopted if there is only ONE country opposed to it. The interests of the Village must have priority over the interests of a single country, be it the USA, Russia, England, France or China.
Once the resolution has been adopted, a coalition of countries can be put in place to act.
