Trumpistan president

Trois haies majeures se dressent sur le parcours du president du Trumpistan en 2020. Le public est prêt, aux quatre coins du Village, et attend avec impatience.

1. Le procès pour destitution du president du Trumpistan devant le sénat américain commence cette semaine, pour abus de pouvoir et entrave a la justice en refusant de répondre aux demandes de la chambre des représentants américaine en termes de documents ou de témoins a comparaître. Decision d'ici la fin de cet hiver.

2. La Cour Suprême des Etats Unis a été appelée a trancher sur le recours de ce président qui refuse de rendre publique ses états financiers dans le cadre d’enquêtes fiscales pour diverses malversations. Décision attendue cet été.

3. L'election présidentielle américaine aura lieu début novembre 2020. Dommage que les Etats Unis n'aient toujours pas adopté le principe d'une personne égale un vote comme le reste des democracies occidentales, et gardent un college intermédiaire de grands électeurs, comme quelques pays seulement dans le Village (dont la Chine).

Bien sur le sort de ce président dépendra de ces trois decisions, mais beaucoup plus important encore, c'est la Constitution américaine qui va devoir passer ces trois tests pour convaincre le Village que les Etats Unis sont bien une démocratie. Ou non...

Three hurdles are awaiting this President of  Trumpistan in 2020.

1. The impeachment trial of the President of Trumpistan in front of the American Senate is starting this week, for abusing his power and refusing to cooperate with the justice by not communicating documents and refusing the audition of some witnesses as requested by the American House of representatives. Decision expected before the end of this winter.

2. The Supreme Court of Justice of the USA has been asked by this President to confirm if he can still refuse or not to hand over his financial statements of the last few years, in the case of a few financial inquiries launched against him by some judges. Decision expected by the end of the summer.

3. The American Presidential election will take place early November 2020. A shame in my opinion that the USA have still not adopted the principle of one person equals one vote as the other western democracies, and are still keeping an intermediate college of great electors, like a few countries only in the Village (including China).

Of course the future of this President depends of these three decisions, but far more important, it is the American Constitution which will pass these three tests if the Village is to believe that the USA are indeed a democracy... or not...
