Le Président de l’Egypte et sa famille auraient amassé plus de 30 milliards de dollars, dont apparemment la majorité est a l’abri a l’extérieur du pays. Les Etats Unis ont donné a l'Egypte environ 1 milliard par an sur les 30 dernières années, en échange d’une armée forte et de la paix avec Israël, soit un total d'environ 30 milliard de dollars...

Il y a en Egypte 3 millions d’enfants qui travaillent pour survivre ou aider leurs familles, dans les rues, ou les décharges publiques. 

Alors… si 1% avait été dépensé pour améliorer la vie de ces enfants sur les 30 dernières années , combien d’éducateurs aurait-on pu payer par an a un salaire mensuel moyen de 300 USD ?

The President of Egypt and his close family are rumored to own more than 30 billion dollars, mostly evaded outside of the country. The USA has given Egypt around 1 billion dollars per year over the last 30 years, in exchange for a strong army and for peace with Israel, so a total over the years of… 30 billion dollars...

Egypt has 3 million children working to survive or help their families, in the streets, in the garbage dumps. 

So… if 1% had been spent on improving the life of these children over the last 30 years, how many educators would that represent per year at a monthly salary around 300 USD?

Aujourd'hui, jour de la Marmotte en Amérique du Nord. Une marmotte sort de son hibernation et regarde au dehors : si elle ne voit pas le soleil, la tradition veut que l’hiver durera moins de 6 autres semaines; et la marmotte retourne dans son abri pour hiberner. 

Chanceuse la marmotte… Pendant ce temps la, du Texas au nord Est de des Etats Unis et du Canada, la pire tempête hivernale de cet hiver est arrivée. Combien de cms de neige ? Je vous dirais ca dans deux jours, quand je pourrais ouvrir ma porte d’entrée...

Ce jour est également la Chandeleur. Une tradition en France veut que si vous faites sauter des crêpes avec des amis ce soir et que vous ne ratez pas le retournement de la crêpe tout en tenant une pièce d’or dans la main, l’année vous apportera de l’argent. En fait... si vous avez une maison, une pièce d’or a la maison et des amis pour partager vos crêpes, vous êtes déjà parmi les gens riches et chanceux du Village…

Today is Groundhog Day for North America. A groundhog comes out of his winter sleep and looks outside: if it does not see the sun, tradition has it that winter will be over in less than 6 more weeks, and the groundhog returns in its hibernation home. 

Lucky groundhog… Meanwhile, from Texas to the north East of the USA and Canada, the worst winter storm of the year is happening. How many inches of snow? I’ll tell you in 2 days, when I can open my front door.

Today is also Chandeleur day. A tradition in France has it that if you make crepes with other people this evening, and do not miss the turning flip of the crepe while holding a gold coin in one hand, money will come to you in the same year. Mind you, if you have a home and a gold coin at home and friends to make crepes with, you are already among the rich and lucky people in the Village...

Feux de la rampe / Limelight

Les Etats Unis se sont faits les champions de la démocratie depuis de longues années, utilisant l’argument pour critique parfois des gouvernements qu’ils avaient ciblés pour des raisons stratégiques, commerciales ou simplement par un anticommunisme et antisocialisme parfois primaire. Mais pas de remontrance publique bien sur aux régimes qui empêchent les adversaires des Etats Unis d’arriver au pouvoir . La France n'est pas innocente non plus.

La démocratie de Mr Ben Ali (Tunisie) et celle de Mr Moubarak (Egypte) sont en train de voler en éclat sous les pleins feux de WilkiLeaks et des réseaux sociaux américains (Facebook, Twitter et autres). Toutes les vérités ne sont pas bonnes a dire disait le proverbe. Trop tard…

La secrétaire d’Etat des Etats Unis, aujourd’hui papillon éblouie par les feux de la rampe, pourrait sous peu laisser la place a une personne avec expérience ou a une nouvelle génération de démocrates Américains plus ouverts aux attentes et aux exigences du Village. Les objectifs a court terme du Canal de Suez ou des gouvernements d’Egypte / Jordanie / Iran devraient être remplacés par deux objectifs plus urgents : reconnaitre l’Etat de Palestine, et lancer une offensive médiatique pour éduquer les esprits embrumés du Village, pour qu’ils comprennent les vraies valeurs de la démocratie, rejettent la corruption à tous les niveaux, et améliorent la distribution des richesses au Village.

The USA have been defending democracy for years, using the notion to criticise governments they sometimes picked up for strategic reasons, commercial reasons or simply by anti-communism or anti-socialism at the first degree. But no public critics of course to the governments who were preventing the adversaries of the USA to reach power. The French have done their bit too...

The democracies of Mr Ben Ali (Tunisia) and of Mr Mubarak (Egypt) are bursting in flames under the limelight of WilkiLeaks and of the American social networks (Facebook, Twitter and others). All the truths are not good to be published, said the proverb. Too late…

The Secretary of State of the United States, today a dazed butterfly under the limelight, could soon let her job to someone with more experience or a new generation of American democrats more open to the expectations and exigencies of the Village. The short term objectives of the Suez canal or the Egypt / Iran / Jordan future governments should be replaced by two more urgent objectives: recognize the state of Palestine and launch an overall education of the obscured minds of the Village so they understand true democracy values, reject corruption at all levels, and improve distribution of the wealth in the Village.

Je me demande si, dans leurs esprits tordus, les vandales qui ont attaqué des synagogues et des écoles Juives récemment pensaient attaquer des Canadiens de religion Juive ou l’Etat d’Israël.

Il est urgent de rappeler a tous que le fait de ne pas supporter le gouvernement actuel d’Israël et certaines de ses actions ne devrait jamais empêcher chacun de montrer a tous nos voisins Juifs le respect, l’aide et la fraternité auxquels ils ont droit, a commencer par le respect de tous leurs buildings, écoles synagogues et maisons.

Et si on lisait ce rappel dans toutes les écoles publiques et religieuses, y compris les écoles musulmanes, juives ou chrétiennes?

I wonder if, in their twisted minds, the vandals who attacked synagogues and Jewish schools recently meant to attack Canadians of the Jewish religion or the state of Israel. 

It is urgent that all be reminded that not supporting the government of Israel and some of its actions should never prevent anyone from showing all our Jewish neighbors the respect, help and brotherhood they’re due, starting with respecting all their buildings, schools, synagogues and houses. 

How about reading this reminder in all public and religious schools, including Muslim, Jewish and Christian ones?

Quel Lundi? / Which Monday?

Les trois sujets que je n’ai pas entendus dans le discours du Président des Etats Unis : la paix dans le Village, la naissance d’un état Palestinien, et les solutions pratiques a la crise financière Américaine. Les trois phrases que j’aurais aimé entendre…

- « La paix dans le Village pour tous les pays doit être un objectif prioritaire pour les Etats Unis et tous les autres pays »
Remarquez bien, les marchands d’armes savent utiliser cet objectif pour justifier leurs ventes.
- « Les Etats Unis reconnaitront l’Etat de Palestine avant la fin de l’année 2011 »
L’absence d’un état Palestinien continuent d’être une source latente majeure du terrorisme dans plusieurs pays au Village, qui payent tous le prix de ce manque d’agrément. Israël ne tiendrait pas longtemps sans l’aide financière des Etats Unis, et donc tous ceux qui sont frustrés par le manque de traité de paix continueront de tenir les Etats Unis pour responsable de la situation, et une cible facile pour leur terrorisme injustifiable.

Seuls les leaders raisonnables islamiques peuvent refuser la violence au nom de Dieu et parler a leurs ouailles.
- « Tous les casinos financiers seront fermés dès Lundi »
Les Etats Unis ont fait chuter l’économie du Village avec leur monde financier aux lois douteuses, et les casinos financiers sans creation de valeur doivent etre fermés.

Au fait je n’ai pas dit quel Lundi… disons une certain forme de realisme…

Three major items I did not find in the President of the USA speech: peace in the Village, birth of the Palestinian state, and practical remedies to the American financial crisis. The three sentences I would have like to hear.

- “Peace in the Village for all countries must be a key objective for the USA and for all countries”.
Mind you, the merchants of arms know how to use this objective to justify their sales,...
- “The USA will recognize the State of Palestine before the end of this year 2011”.
The lack of Palestinian state continue to be a major hidden source of terrorism in many countries in the Village, which are all paying the price for this lack of agreement. Israel could not last long without the financial support of the USA, so all those frustrated by this lack of peace treaty will continue holding the USA responsible for the situation and a convenient target for their unjustified terrorism. Only the reasonable Islam leaders can refuse violence in the name of God and talk to all their followers.
- “All financial casinos will be closed as per Monday”.
The United States brought down the economy of the Village with their unruly financial world, and the financial casinos creating zero value must be stopped. By the way, I did not say which Monday… call it realism

WilkiLeaks a révélé que les autorités Palestiniennes avaient indiqué au gouvernement d’Israël qu’ils étaient prêts a accepter la majorité des extensions israéliennes dans Jérusalem est, et d’adoucir leur position sur le retour des Palestiniens exilés (les deux problèmes les plus brulants dans les négociations avec Israël) en échange pour un accord de paix et une reconnaissance d’un état de Palestine. Et Israël aurait refusé cette offre comme insuffisante.

Bravo aux dirigeants Palestiniens pour leur courage, car ils savaient que le Hamas et l’opinion dans la rue ne seraient pas très favorables a un tel accord.

- Les Etats Unis devaient d’être au courant d’une telle proposition. Etaient-ils d’accord avec la reponse israelienne ?

- Quel est le plan de paix Israélien pour leur frère jumeau de 1947? 

Si ce plan n’existe pas, par écrit, cela va renforcer ceux qui soutiennent que le gouvernement actuel d’Israël n’a qu’un objectif, le rétablissement du grand Israël et qu’ils ne reconnaîtront jamais un état de Palestine, sous n’importe quelle forme.

WilkiLeaks has revealed that, in the recent past, Palestinian authorities had indicated to the Israel government that they were ready to accept all but one of the Israel settlements in East Jerusalem, and ready to soften the right of return of Palestinians (the two more crucial issues in their negotiations with Israel) in exchange for a peace agreement and a State of Palestine recognized by Israel. And Israel would have turned down the offer as not enough. Congratulations to Palestinian authorities for their courage, as they knew the Hamas and the opinion in the street would not be very sympathetic to the deal.

- The USA were aware of such proposal. Did they agree with Israel turning down such a peace proposal?

- What is the Israel peace plan for their twin brother in 1947? 

If it does not exist, in writing, it will only reinforce those who contend that the present government only wants to reinstate the Great Israel and will never recognize a State of Palestine in any kind of form. 

Cul sec Coca Cola... / Bottoms up Coca Cola...

Le Président de la Chine a visité les Etats Unis ces quatre derniers jours.

Au diner officiel, le President de Coca Cola (invité spécial) a levé son verre et porté un toast. Malheureusement il a utilisé la formule Japonaise pour porter un toast, pas la formule Chinoise! Un peu comme si le Président Italien portait un toast en Allemand a un dinner officiel en France...

A en croire son prénom, le Président de Coca Cola pourrait être originaire de l'Inde, l'autre poids lourd en Asie... 

Un Américain d'origine indienne portant un toast en Japonais a un Président Chinois... Cul sec! Kempé! 

Et bonne chance en Chine Mr Coca Cola...

The President of China visited the USA over the last four days. 

At the official diner, the President of Coca Cola (special guest) lifted his glass for a toast. 

Unfortunately he used the Japanese formula for the toast, not the Chinese formula! A bit like the President of Italia making a toast in German at an official dinner in France...
Judging by his first name, the President of Coca Cola could have one ancestor from India, the other heavy weight in Asia... 

An American with ancestors from India toasting a Chinese President with a Japanese toast... Kempe! 

And good luck in China Mr Coca Cola...
