Alsace

Le président français Mr Sarkozy et la chancelière allemande Mme Merkel ont donné une conférence de presse conjointe, en répondant a des questions d'un journaliste français et d'un journaliste allemand. Traduction simultanée pour les intervenants et pour tous les français et les allemands qui ont regardé la conférence. 

Mr Sarkozy a rappelé que l'Europe et la coopération franco-allemande étaient nés de la volonté de paix (plus jamais ca...) du chancelier Adenauer et du général de Gaulle. 

Trois guerres en 1870, 1914 et 1941 entre l'Allemagne et la France pour reconquérir l'Alsace entre autres. 

Tout alsacien ou fils d'alsacien a perdu des membres de sa famille dans ces trois conflits, parmi les millions de morts venus du monde entier. 

Je vote pour Strasbourg capitale de l'Europe... et pour un alsacien président de l'Europe...

The French President Mr Sarkozy and Mrs Merkel, prime minister of Germany, have held a press conference jointly, answering questions of a French journalist and of a German journalist. Traduction live for all including for all Frenchmen and German people who were watching live the interview. 

Mr Sarkozy recalled that Europe and the French - German cooperation were born of a willingness of peace (never again this...) from the Chancellor Adenauer and the general de Gaulle. Three wars in 1870, 1914 and 1941 between Germany and France for re-gaining Alsace among others. 

All Alsatians or children of Alsatians have lost many members of their family in these three conflicts, among the millions of dead from the whole world.

I vote for Strasbourg capital of Europe... and an Alsatian President of Europe... 

Canada

Un jury populaire a condamné la semaine dernière un homme, sa femme et son fils pour avoir assassiné les trois filles et la première femme du mari en poussant dans un canal une voiture ou elles se trouvaient toutes les quatre. La famille était originaire d'Afghanistan, et le père n'acceptait pas que ses filles suivent une vie moderne normale avec un petit ami de leur choix. 

Ce crime de soi-disant "honneur familial" a été sévèrement condamné par le juge qui a lu la sentence, qui a estimé que le Canada envoyait un signal fort aux partisans du crime de soi-disant honneur familial. 

La sentence: prison a perpétuité pour les trois personnes. 

Bravo le Canada et sa justice.

Hier, un imam musulman a lancé une fatwa contre les crimes d'honneur en général. 

Merci pour toutes les femmes et filles musulmanes.

Last week a popular jury has condemned a man, his wife and his son for having assassinated the three daughters and the first wife of the husband by pushing into a canal a car with the four women in it. The family was originally from Afghanistan, and the father did not accept that his daughters were following a normal modern life like a boy friend of their choice. 

This crime of so-called "family honor" has been severely condemned by the judge who red the judgement. He also estimated that Canada was sending a strong signal to the fans of so-called "family honor" killings. 

The judgement: all three persons condemned to life in jail. Congratulations to Canada and its justice system.

Yesterday a Canadian Muslim imam has declared a fatwa against all family honor crimes in general. Thanks for the Muslim women and girls.

Afrah était sorti de sa tanière et attendait Agizul près du cactus en fleurs. Il ne comprenait
pas trop les nouvelles en provenance des familles d'Egypte et de Syrie...
Dès que Agizul arriva, il l'interpella...
Af. C'est vrai que les rebelles au nord de notre pays (Lybie) continuent de garder leurs
armes et de ranconner les citoyens?
Ag. Oui...
Af. Et que fait le gouvernement?
Ag. Pas grand chose... quel gouvernement...?
Af. Peut-être que des gens vont vouloir déménager en Algérie, ou meme en Arabie
Saoudite pour les plus religieux? c'est plus calme la-bas...
Ag. Le printemps revient... les feux d'artifice ne sont pas terminés...

Af. Mais... en Tunisie et en Egypte, les Frères islamiques ont la majorité et vont gouverner?

Ag. Oui... Af. C'est une bonne nouvelle pour la démocratie, non?

Ben...cette semaines des manifestants égyptiens ont voulu manifester devant les batiments de l'Assemblée législative, mais des militants des Frères islamiques les ont empéché de s'approcher de l'Assemblée... même si la manifestation était contre les dirigeants militaires égyptiens qui n'ont toujours pas mis de réforme en marche et semblent s'accrocher au pouvoir...

Af. Les militaires et les Frères islamiques sont contre les manifestations...? pourtant les manifestations pacifiques font partie de la démocracie...?

Ag. Ben...oui...

Af. Et les 70 supporters de l'équipe de foot du Caire qui ont été tués en déplacement a Port Said, sans que la police n'intervienne? ce sont les même jeunes du Caire qui avaient lancé et gagné la révolution contre le président et ses militaires...

Ag. C'est vrai que le gouvernement des militaires ne voit pas d'un bon oeil la jeunesse du Caire, et ils ont peut-être donné des ordres pour laisser faire les supporters de Port Said qui s'en prenaient a ces jeunes du Caire qui dérangent... malheureusement le nombre de tués et blessés a du dépasser leurs prévisions...

Af. Et les manifestations en Syrie, tout le monde dans le Village s'en moque...?

Ag. Non, le Village veut un changement de régime. Mais... la Russie a un droit de véto et veut organiser des négociations en Russie entre le président qui a déja fait assassiner 6,000 citoyens et les manifestants, et... elle veut continuer a vendre des armes au régime en place. Israel se méfie sans doute des Frères Islamiques, donc les Etats Unis ne bougeront pas, et tout est dans les mains de l'Europe et des Nations Unies...

Af. Pourquoi on ne choisit pas un pays vraiment démocratique ou gouvernent les Frères islamiques, et on leur demande de le prendre en example? Même nous, on pourrait déménager la-bas...?

Ag. Un pays vraiment démocratique ou gouvernent les Frères Islamiques, avec la liberté et les mêmes droits pour les femmes et les hommes...? Ben... ca viendra sans doute... peut-etre au Maroc ou en Turquie... mais pour l'instant... garde tes valises au-dessus de l'armoire Afrah...

Afrah was outside his den waiting for Agizul near the cactus in bloom. He did not really
understand the news he had heard from the families in Egypt and Syria...
As soon as Agizul arrived, he asked him:
Af. Is it true that rebels in the north of our country (Libya) kept their weapons and are
threatening the citizens?
Ag. Yes...
Af. What is the government doing?
Ag. Not much... what government anyway?
Af. Maybe some people are going to want to move to Algeria, or even Saudi Arabia for
the more religious? it is more calm there...
Ag. Spring is back soon... the fireworks are not over yet...

Af. But... in Tunisia and in Egypt, the Islamic brothers have the majority and are going to

govern?
Ag. Yes...
Af. That is good news for democracy, no?
Ag. Well... this week Egyptians went to the streets and wanted to demonstrate in front of
the legislative asembly, but some of the Islamic brothers prevented them from getting
close to the Assembly... even if the demonstration was against the military government
which has still not put in place any reform and seems to hang on to the power...
Af. The military and the Islamic Brothers are against the demonstrations...? but the
peaceful demonstrations are part of democracy...?
Ag. Well... yes...
Af. And the 70 soccer fans of the Cairo team who got killed in the Port Said stadium,
without any protection by the police? they are the same young people from Cairo who
had launched and won the revolution against the President and the military...
Ag. It is true that the government and the military do not appreciate the young people
from Cairo, and they might have given orders to let the Port Said soccer fans attack the
young fans from Cairo who are a thorn in their foot... unfortunately the number of people
killed or harmed must have gone over their expectations...

Af. And the demonstrations in Syria, nobody in the Village cares...?

Ag. No, the Village wants a change in the regime. But... Russia has a right of veto and wants to organise negociations in Russia between the president who has already killed 6,000 citizens and the demonstrators, and... Russia wants to continue selling weapons to the existing regim. Israel is probably not in favor of the Islamic Brothers, so the United States will not move, and it is all in the hands of Europe and the United Nations...

Af. Why don't they choose a real democracy where the Islamic Brothers govern, and they ask all the other countries to take it as an example? Even we could move there...?

Ag. A real democracy where the Islamic Brothers govern... with freedom and same rights for the women and the men...? Well... it will probably come in the future... in Morocco or in Turkey... but for the time being... keep your suitcases on top of your wardrobe, Afrah

La France va faire passer un examen aux demandeurs de la nationalité francaise, comme au Canada, aux Etats Unis, etc...
Je viens de prendre connaissance de quelques questions:
"- Brigitte Bardot: actrice de cinéma ou terroriste?

- La Guerre de cent ans: Moyen-age, 15ème siècle ou 20ème siècle?"

Qui a écrit ces questions...?!

Je propose des questions plus en ligne avec la culture française... (réponses ci-dessous)
1- Quel animal représente la France: le coq ou la grenouille?
2- Quelle était la couleur de la culotte portée par Brigitte Bardot dans son premier film: blanche ou rouge?

France is going to require that applicants for the French pass an exam, like in Canada,
the United States, etc...
I just heard about a few questions:

Who wrote these questions...?!

I propose questions more in ligne with the french culture.. (answers below)
1- Which animal represent France: the rooster or the frog?
2- What was the color of the panties of Brigitte Bardot in her first movie: white or red?
3- What was the color of the white horse of Henry the 4th: white or brown?
4- What time do the French workers take a coffee-rhum or a coffee-calvados on the counter
of the bar closest to the entrance of the plant: 5am, 8am, 12.30, 2pm, 6pm, or 10pm?

(Suite au discours mardi dernier du président des Etats Unis Mr Obama, je vous livre mes commentaires a propos de ce qu'il a dit... ou omis de dire... sur la constitution, l'éducation, le monde de la finance, l'Europe, la Chine, la paix, le Village, etc...)

Le Président des Etats Unis Mr Obama a parlé de politique internationale bien sur. 

Je résume: la Chine, Israel et l'Europe...

- Les Etats Unis vont s'assurer que tous les pays jouent le même jeu avec les mêmes règles (sous entendu la Chine), et le gouvernement américain va aider les entreprises a exporter.

Pourquoi les Allemands et les Français ont-ils plus de succès en Chine que les Américains? ... a mon avis parcequ'ils savent mieux écouter et accepter les demandes et le mode de vie des Chinois. 

Entre civilisations millénaires, on se comprend et on s'estime, au-dela des relations commerciales... Dans quelques centaines d'années peut etre les Américains pourront débarquer en Chine... 

A mon avis il est également grand temps que les pays remettent a la mode des taxes d'importation pour insister sur les priorités du Village. 

Et il va bien falloir qu'un jour le Village établisse un salaire minimum commun, des conditions égales pour les hommes et les femmes, et des conditions d'hygiène et de sécurité communes obligatoires pour tous les pays. Il ne reste qu'a espérer que nos petits enfants verront ce progrès... 

- Les Etats Unis feront tout et au dela pour empécher l'Iran de posséder la bombe nucléaire. Je résume:en plus des Américains, des Francais et des Anglais, la Chine, la Russie, le Pakistan, l'Inde, et la Corée du Nord ont leur bombe nucléaire, et Israel, si ils la détiennent, refusent toute inspection des Nations Unies. Les Iraniens réclament le droit a l'enrichissement a concurrence de 20% (qualité civile), droit reconnu par les Nations Unies, mais jouent avec les inspections et refusent d'accepter l'état d'Israel (menaces publiques de le detruire). Remarquez qu'il est difficile de demander aux Iraniens d'accepter un plan de paix proposé par Israel, qui n'existe pas clairement. Le premier pas vers la paix serait un document global compréhensif émis par le gouvernement d'Israel précisant leur position sur tous les sujets en débat?

- La Syrie doit changer de régime. Au suivant...

- L'Europe... je n'ai rien entendu sur l'Europe? L'Europe n'est plus une préoccupation pour les Etats Unis, dont les efforts et les ressources sont mobilisées par l'Asie et Israel. L'OTAN n'est plus une priorité pour les Etats Unis (la Russie ne pense qu'a vendre ses énergies et a perpétuer la corruption). Il y a beaucoup plus de matériel militaire américain a vendre ou a tester en Asie et au Moyen Orient qu'en Europe...

- La paix dans le Village... je n'ai rien entendu sur la paix dans le Village? L'Union européenne a été créée pour qu'il n'y ait plus de guerre en Europe, et le pari est en voie d'être gagné. Une région en paix intéresse moins les Etats Unis?
Si... si les Etats Unis nommaient un ministre (secrétaire d'Etat) de la Paix dans le Village, fermaient les casinos financiers, et si le siège des Nations Unies déménageait en dehors des Etats Unis, alors... on peut rêver... dommage...
En attendant, ne lâchez pas Mr Obama...

(Following last Tuesday speech of the President of the USA, Mr Obama, I am offering my comments about what he said ...or omitted to say... about the constitution, the education, the finance world, Europe, China, peace, the Village, etc...)

The President of the United States Mr Obama spoke abot international politics of
course. In a few words, China, Israel and Europe...

- The United States are going to make sure that all countries play the same game with
the same rules (they mean China), and the American government is going to help the
businesses to export.
Why do Germans and French have more success in China than the Americans? ... in my
opinion because they listen better and accept more the requests and the way of living of
the Chinese. Between millenary civilisations, one understand and respect the other
beyond commercial relations... Maybe the Americans can come to China in a few
hundred years...
In my opinion, it is also time that all countries use import taxes to show the priorities of
the Village. And one day, the Village will have a common minimum salary, equal
conditions for men and women, and minimum conditions of health and safety, mandatory
for all countries. Let's hope our grand children will see this progress one day...

- The United States will do everything and more to prevent Iran to get the nuclear bomb.
In short: on top of the Americans, the French and the English, China, Russia, Pakistan,
India and North Korea have the nuclear bomb, and Israel, if they have it, refuse all
inspection by the United Nations. Iran claim they are allowed to enrich uranium to a 20%
grade (civil grade), as recognized by the United Nations, but they keep playing with the
inspectors of the United nations and refuse the right of Israel to exist (public threats to
destroy Israel).
Mind you, it is difficult to ask the Iranians to accept a peace plan proposed by Israel, as it
does not exist clearly? The first step towards peace would be a global and
comprehensive document issued by Israel showing clearly their position on all the issues.

- Syria must change their regime. Next...
- Europe... I did not hear anything on Europe?
Europe is no more a subject of interest for the United States, as all their efforts and
resources are dedicated to Asia and Israel. NATO is no more a priority for the USA
(Russia is only concerned by selling their energies and maintaining corruption). There a
re a a lot more military equipment to be sold or tested in Asia and in the Middle East than
in Europe...
- Peace in the Village... I did not hear anything about peace in the Village?
Europe was created so there would not be any more war in Europe, and the objective is
close to be reached. An area in peace is of little interest to the United States?

If... if the United States were to name a minister (secretary of State) of Peace in the
Village, to close the financial casinos and if the United Nations were to move out of the
United States, then... one can dream... oh well...
In the mean time, keep up the good work Mr Obama...
