* Shiites vs Sunnites - Television

Last week Qatar and Saudi Arabia asked their citizens to leave Syria immediately.
This week, Iran is sending army commanders and foot soldiers to come and help the Syrian government's army. It is a question of time before Qatar and Saudi Arabia announce the deployment of
military experts and foot soldiers. Then the Shiites and the Sunnites will be able to square
it all, with replays happening in most of the Muslim countries, starting with Iraq.

I hope the battles will be televised, but that they will not be held on Wednesdays, day of the soccer European games on TV, or on hockey nights... mind you, we can always record the televised battles and watch them after the sport events...

Syria cannot justify the government of 80% Sunnites by 12% Shiites. Since nobody calls for a general election of the legislative Assembly and of the President... why the Sunnites and the Shiites don't settle their issues with a game of cricket, soccer or even rugby? their followers would sure appreciate to stay alive, mainly the wives and mothers of those who are going to continue dying under the eyes of a paralysed United Nations Security Council which obviously needs new rules, like no more veto by a single country, no matter what country it is, Russia, China or the USA.

PS: You don't believe that Qatar and Saudi Arabia are going to send troops...? in case of a victory of these Iranian forces, in your opinion, what are these forces going to do... look at a map of the Middle East... and a rocket sent by mistake in the wrong direction, it can happen during a war... Neil Amstrong

Someone walked on the Moon... Neil Amstrong has died... Hergé too...
I am not sure which day it was when Neil walked on the Moon, but I sure know where I was the minute he did it... and you...? I was doing my military service, I had climbed over the wall at the lower spot indicated to all by the sergeant, and I was walking back to the barracks, past midnight... I was walking along a high rise building, and suddenly over maximum 5 seconds, 20 or 40 windows opened and someone was looking at each window... unforgettable... I stopped a few seconds to look at the Moon... Thanks Neil and the NASA... as the Chinese say, The person saying it cannot be done should not interrupt the person doing it... thanks for the dream come true...

1914 Internet

What would you do if the Internet and the telephone were to go down suddenly> for example victims of waves sent by extra-terrestrial creatures...?
A Frenchman proposes to keep a minimum numbers of travelling pigeons to help communication between the key members of the government in such a case. Like during the war of 1914-18.
I find it dangerous to have exposed this solution on the Internet... in case the extraterrestrial creatures are already watching us... As a matter of fact I am already uneasy with the fact that I did publish this blog... but in my garden I only have cardinals and blue jays, and I don't have the address of the travelling pigeons house closest to my home...

Bill Clinton

The Presidential campaign in the United States is on. The Republican convention is being held next week in Florida, are thankful for the arrival of the next hurricane... so news media will have something to report interesting the American people, other than the birth certificate of President Obama or the medical explanations regarding the impossibility to get pregnant if you are raped. Mind you, I guess the candidate of Wisconsin was right, if you are a man.... The Democratic convention will be held bit later. One question will finally be answered there... Is Hillary Clinton still alive and around? President Obama already said a few months ago that she would be remembered as one of the great American Secretary of State... He meant... "please leave at the end of my first mandate..."
Mind you,
- After it was revealed that she had instructed by mail all American embassies to collect personel data on all key political figures of western countries, including physical information or people met, she was rarely seen outside of the US of A again...
- She did not succeed in obtaining any progress whatsoever from Israel for a recognition of Palestine and more steps towards peace with the Palestinians, an objective dear to the President Obama.
- She upset Canada a couple of times by her attitude at meetings, or forgetting to consult with Canada before key decisions, or even simply regularly once or twice a year...

In short, I agree with the President Obama: please leave... Mind you, by doing so she will be giving more liberty of speech and action to her husband, dear old Bill... we had forgotten him... and his "foundation"...
It will be interesting to see how the President Obama will keep Bill quiet during his second mandate...

The excision of little girls in Africa has been fought for years. A few years ago, a German judge decided that circumcision of a male baby was not respecting its more elementary rights. And this made all religious Jews and Muslims mad in Germany 10% to 30% of Europeans and Canadians male, and more than 70% of the American males are apparently circumcised at birth.
The question is growing in Europe, it is coming in the USA, and the same answer might come... confirming, rightly so, the right of any baby, male or female, to the integrity of its body.

Mars NASA

The American NASA has landed a robot on Mars, after an 8 months trip, exactly where
they wanted to land. Unbelievable... Congratulations!
The mission will help find out if there is / was lif on Mars.
Mind you, if there is life on Mars, and they caught the radio signals from the NASA, we might be in for some surprises...

Tunisie / Tunisia

A Tunisian athlete woman won a medal in the London Olympic games. Congratulations. Since 1956, in Tunisia, women have the same rights as the men, thanks to the President Bourguiba. A new constitution for Tunisia is being finalised and will have a sentence on the women's rights, which was just voted on by the legislative Assembly, with an islamist majority. The vote was held the day after the closing of the Olympic games, first Olympic games where each country had a female athlete.
The sentence which was voted on: "The State insures the protection of the woman's rights, as already established, under the principle of complement with the man in the family".
So... no husband, no rights...? And I guess that the woman at home will remain complementary to her husband... Are the husbands going to ask to follow their wives in the same lane on the athletic races...?
They better start training...

Many women in Tunisia are angry... the support of everyone in the Village has no price...
Mainly when on the same week, Saudi Arabia announced that it was creating business villages reserved to the women...
Let's wait and see what the western countries and the United Nations are going to say and do to show their support to an Islam which must give to the women the same rights as the men, once and for all.

I can understand that, for his time... Mahomet analysed his fellow citizens and decided that to better protect women from men's reactions, the simplest and safest solution for the women was to hide their charms so men would not be tempted...
In 2012, men who cannot control themselves in front of women in the street should be educated, maybe treated, maybe put behind bars, with free distribution of bromure...

Reve Olympique / Olympic dream

The modern Olympic games were launched more than a century ago by a Frenchman, Pierre de Coubertin, to celebrate sport and competitions between the countries in the Village, with a stop for peace in any on-going war.
During the opening ceremony of the Olympic games, the speeches of the Great Britain organiser and of the President of the Olympic Committee lasted about 15 minutes. The recall of a truce in all conflicts was not reminded by any of them. And the word "peace" was only pronounced once, by the President of the Olympic Committee, and in the only sentence he said in French... I guess so he would not disturb the weapons merchants in the Village, which happen to be in majority the four countries on top of the medals count... USA, China, Great Britain and Russia... amazing, no?!?
As for the closing ceremony, the word "peace" was only heard in the song of John Lennon IMAGINE.
I would have preferred his song GIVE PEACE A CHANCE... It is more realistic than his song IMAGINE which only sees peace without any religion... Peace need agreement between all religions.
But GIVE PEACE A CHANCE, that's also a battle song against the weapons dealers...
How many contracts to sell weapons were signed in London during the Olympic games?
How many people were killed in the Village in an armed conflict during the Olympic games...?
For the next Olympic games, I propose that all countries sending a delegation sign a an engagement that they will not use any weapons during the whole duration of the Olympic games... I can dream I guess...

New York

Saturday afternoon, August 11, in the heart of New York (see picture below).
A man refuses to answer a control of identity and threatens the policemen with a butcher's knife.
On six occasions, the policemen try to calm him down with gas canisters... maybe they should change the canisters' supplier...?
The man is about 10 meters away when he rushes towards the policemen. He is then killed by 12 bullets... One or two bullets in the legs might have been enough...?
Wait... the chief of police and the mayor of New York have defended the 12 bullets as legitimate defense...
The question of an answer adapted to the threat is not easy to solve when you are in thmiddle of the action...What were the instructions and what was the training given to the policemen?

The Chief of police must answer these questions... and let his replacement review the training program....

Changer de vie / Change of life

A young 8 years old Frenchman, had an argument with his parents last week. So when his parents were taking a nap, he filled up a suitcase and took off to go and live at a friend's house a few miles away. But... the suitcase he was dragging behind him was bigger than him... So an adult driver stopped his car, questioned the boy, and took him back home...
If you plan to change your life, don't take much with you, a wallet and a tooth brush should do... And wait till that kid realize he can start a new life with a wallet and his 10" tablet...

Chine / China

«Without a political reform, the economic results of China could be lost. The reform must be extended to the government system of the Parti and the State. Short of making some reforms, the most acute problems of the society - social inequality and corruption - will not be solved a tragedy like the Cultural Revolution cannot be excluded in China"
Who said that, in the spring of 2012?
The Chinese Prime Minister, "grandpa" Wen Jiabao, when he closed the annual session of the Chinese Parliament. He is going to be replaced in October, after 10 years in power. Congratulations for his clear analysis and his free speech. But if he was not able to do anything during the last 10 years, it is clear that his successor will not be able to do much more...

The solution is simple... "grandpa" Wen should create a new political party, recognized by the CPPCC, which could then participate to the drafts of the laws proposed to the Chinese Parliament.
Thanks to let your friends know, in China...

Iran Israel

Apparently, Israel did not kill Iranian nuclear scientists, Israel did not make a computer virus which almost stopped all Iranian nuclear plants, and Iran did not help the terrorist who killed some citizens from Israel in a tourist bus in Bulgaria. Iran does not respect the decisions of the nuclear authorities of the United Nations, and Israel never complied with any decision of the Security Council of the United Nations,
thanks to the veto of the United States.
So all is well I guess...
Iran is not complying with the requests of the United Nations to allow inspection of its nuclear sites. It is under growing economic sanctions. Iran has announced that it will build a nuclear engine for its aircraft carrier, which cannot be forbidden, but would bring them closer to nuclear weapons...
For years, Israel has not complied with the decisions of the Security Council of the United Nations, thanks to the veto of the USA, thereby undermining the authority of this Security Council for ever.
Israel is also not complying with the requests of the European Union regarding the peace process with the Palestinians, when they allow more colonies in unauthorised territories, and keep alive the dream of their extreme right of a great Israel against the 1947 birth certificate to Israel and Palestine delivered by the United Nations.
No sanctions were ever called against Israel, and the European Union is apparently ready to reinforce the economic cooperation with Israel. Go figure...
The past years have been lost for the search for peace between Israel and the rest of the Middle East, peace which might be harder to find now with a stronger Iran. The numerous successive vetoes of the USA to help Israel not to follow the decisions of the Security Council could prove a disaster in the long run for Israel. at least for its image and its support.
Clearly, hidden agendas are in place. And the thoughts must be fought from the beginning:
- No to an Iranian government which wants to wipe out Israel from the surface of the Village.
- No to an Israel government entertaining the dream of a Great Israel, and...
- No to the veto of any single country at the United Nations
