Le gouvernement israélien accuse le
gouvernement anglais de ne pas être assez ferme contre les attaques "antisémites"
en Angleterre. Le gouvernement anglais a refusé ce commentaire, avec raison.
Cela fait bien longtemps que le Village ne confond plus l'antisémitisme et la
condamnation du gouvernement actuel et de l'extrême droite d'Israël.
Quand les Iraniens défient la communauté
internationale en refusant les visites des inspecteurs nucléaires de l'ONU, la communauté
internationale répond en mettant en place des sanctions économiques contre
l'Iran. Quand les Israéliens défient la communauté internationale et l'ONU en
refusant d'arrêter les constructions de logements en Palestine occupée et en
refusant de reconnaitre leur frère jumeau, l'état de Palestine, reconnu par 180
pays sur 190... ou quand Israël refuse de signer le traité de non prolifération
des armes nucléaires, la communauté internationale répond... rien du tout.
Le Village ne comprend pas ces deux poids -
deux mesures envers deux gouvernements qui ne mettent pas la priorité sur la
paix dans le Village.
Le gouvernement actuel d'Israël doit
regarder son nombril avant d'accuser qui que ce soit de ne pas les soutenir, et
doit cesser de tenter de dresser des citoyens en accord avec sa politique désastreuse
contre leur gouvernement dans différends pays. Et si le véto américain au
conseil de sécurité des Nations Unies ou le bouclier militaire américain
atteignaient un jour leurs limites, Israël entendra-t-il enfin les tambours de
la paix... comme demandé par leur président, Shimon Perez, la semaine
dernière...?
The Israeli
government is accusing the English government not to be strong enough in their condemnation
of anti-Semitic attacks against Israel in England. The English government has
refused this comment, and I agree. For quite some time now, the Village has
learned not to mix anti-Semitism and the condemnation of the existing
government of Israel and its extreme right.
When the Iranians
challenge the international community by refusing the visits of the nuclear
inspectors of the United Nations, the international community answers with
economic sanctions against Iran.
When the Israelis
challenge the international community and the United Nations by refusing to
stop new construction in occupied Palestine and by refusing to recognize their
twin brother, the State of Palestine, recognized by 180 countries out of 190...
or when Israel refuses to sign the treaty of non-proliferation of nuclear
weapons, the international community answers with... nothing at all...
The Village does
not understand these difference of treatment towards two governments which do
not put Peace in the Village as their priority.
The existing
government of Israel must look at itself before accusing anyone of not
supporting them, and must stop trying to put citizens in favor of its disastrous
existing policy against their own government in various countries... And if one
day there were limits to the American veto at the United Nations or to the
American military shield, would Israel finally listen to the drums of Peace...
as asked by their own President, Shimon Perez, last week...?
