Circoncision / Circumcision

One year ago, a judge in Cologne, Germany, made it illegal to do circumcise a boy. The government of Germany had then asked the European Assembly to give his opinion on this question.
The European Legislative Assembly has now asked that all European governments bring to the knowledge of all their citizens that the circumcision of a boy is a "violation of its physical integrity" which can induce some risks for his physical health or mental health.
The government of Israel and their minister of foreign affairs ha asked for the immediate cancellation of this text, qualifying it as "at worst, as an invitation to defamation and antireligious hate".

- Israel is not part of Europe, and so it should stay quiet on the subject and let the rabbis in each European country present their arguments against these potential risks. No doubt that the Europeans will follow the debate on the public stage, after all Europe is a mosaic of secular democracies, unlike the Middle East...
- The European text does not call the circumcision illegal, and the pro-advocates and the opponents of this method will be able to debate publicly on the merits or risks of this method, as it remains legal.
- As for the terms used by the Foreign Minister of Israel "defamation and anti-religious hate"), they remind me of a fireman who would blow on a fire he is trying to put out...
