En Juillet 2017 la vieille ville de Hébron en Cisjordanie a été déclarée "héritage patrimoine mondial" par l'UNESCO.
12 voix pour, 3 voix contre, et 6 abstentions.
C'est dans cette ville que se trouve les tombeaux des patriarches, vénérés par les juifs, les chrétiens et les musulmans - tombeaux de Abraham, Isaac et Jacob.
La Cisjordanie fait partie du territoire palestinien tel que déclaré en 1947.
La ville se trouve au sud de Jerusalem (40 kms) et de Bethlehem (20 kms).
La ville compte 200,000 habitants palestiniens et deux colonies israeliennes de plusieurs milliers d'habitants.

Israel a qualifie cette decision d'anti-Israélienne (??)... et a convaincu les USA de quitter immédiatement l'UNESCO, ce qui a été fait en date du 12 Octobre 2017! Il faut dire que les USA avaient déjà arrêté de financer l'UNESCO depuis 2011...
Les Etats Unis vont quand meme conserver un statut d'observateur... comme la Palestine a l'ONU...
Il faut noter que les USA avaient déjà quitté l'UNESCO pendant 20 ans a la fin du 20 ème siècle...
A dans 20 ans?...

In July 2017 the old city of Hebron in Cisjordanie was declared "World Heritage" by the UNESCO.
12 votes for, 3 votes against, 6 votes abstained.
In this city are the tombs of the patriarchs, recognized by the Jews, the Christians and the Muslims - tombs of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
Cisjordanie is the Palestinian territory as declared in 1947.
The city is south of  Jerusalem (40 kms) and south of Bethlehem (20 kms).
The city counts 200,000 Palestinian inhabitants and two Israeli settlements of a few thousand people.

Israel has qualified this decision of anti-Israel (??)... and has convinced the USA to withddraw from the UNESCO, which was done on October 12, 2017! Mind you, the USA had already stopped financing the UNESCO since 2011...
The USA are going to keep a seat of observer though... like Palestine at the United Nations...
Mind you, the USA had already quit the UNESCO for 20 years at the end of the 20th century...
