Le NYT a rapporté que la FDA, agence americaine responsable de la santé et des médicaments, a multiplié recemment les visites en Inde pour evaluer les standards de production des usine pharmaceutiques indiennes, et formule de plus en plus d'interdiction d'importation de medicaments.
L'Inde produit plus de 40% des médicaments vendus sans prescription aux USA.
Les agents gouvernementaux indiens ont d'abord dit qu'ils soupçonnaient les américains de protéger leurs propres usines pharmaceutiques. Sauf que... leur principal producteur a plaidé coupable et payé une amende de 500 millions de dollars...
Alors les agents indiens disent maintenant que si leurs usines devaient suivre les standards très stricts des américains pour leurs propres produits, ils devraient sans doute fermer la quasi totalité de leurs usines...!
Je pense que c'est la meilleure solution, si les industriels ne veulent pas investir et etre plus rigoureux dans le suivi de la qualité après avoir signé un contrat qui comporte en annexe les normes sanitaires attendues...
Savoir que les médicaments que je vais prendre ont été produits dans une usine ou les mouches se comptent par milliers ne me séduit pas particulièrement... a bien y penser, la mouche fait partie des animaux sacrés en Inde...

The NYT has reported that the FDA, the American agency responsible for the Health and medicine, has recently multiplied the inspections in India to evaluate the production standards of the Indian pharmceutical plants, and is issuing more and more stops to imports of drugs from India.
India produces more than 40% of the drugs sold voer the counter in the USA.
The Indian government agents have first accused the Americans to protect their own production plants. Except that... their main producer has recognized the facts and paid a fine of 500 millions dollars...
So the Indian agents now say that if their plants had to follow the strict standard of the Americans for their drugs, they should probably shut down most of their plants...
I think that would be the best solution, if the producers do not want to invest or be more rigorous in the quality control after they have signed a contract which has in annex the expected health standards...

I am not particularly overjoyed to learn that the drugs I will be taking were produced in a plant with a few thousand flies... Come to think of it, the fly is a sacred animal in India...
